Around eight months ago I lost my sense of taste and smell. Since then, I have had three courses of antibiotics, including a spray and a month-long course of nasal drops. I also had a CT scan, which was normal. I have had no bumps to my head, though I did have a heavy cold around the time of losing my taste and smell. I have seen an ear, nose and throat consultant, who could find nothing wrong. He said I might get it back in time. I am now left with a horrible sweet smell most of the time. Could you give me any explanation?
